nine-year cycle · one small step

Personal Year Calculator
What are you growing this year?

Use numerology's nine-year cycle to find a theme for the year and a smaller focus for this month. It is a reflection map for choices, not a fixed prediction.

What is a Personal Year?

A Personal Year adds your birth month and day to the digits of a target calendar year, then reduces the total to 1 through 9. Unlike a Life Path number, it changes as the year changes.

Example: For a July 14 birthday in 2026, 7+1+4+2+0+2+6=22, then 2+2=4. This calculator reads it as Personal Year 4. It reduces 11, 22, and 33 so every result fits the same nine-year cycle.

The cycle is a wheel, not a ranking. Year 1 is not automatically better than Year 9. Beginnings need space made by endings, and visible results need the quieter years of learning and structure.

Our added twist: from a year to this month

Many calculators stop at a number and a yearly meaning. Hoshiyomi Chaya also adds the current calendar month to your Personal Year to make a Personal Month. The result is translated into four practical prompts: what to grow, what to reduce, this month's focus, and one action that takes about five minutes.

Frequently asked questions

Does the cycle change on January 1 or my birthday?

Both approaches exist. This page uses the calendar-year method, January 1 through December 31, because it makes different years easy to compare.

Do you keep master numbers?

Not in this nine-year tool. It reduces to 1–9 for a consistent cycle. Our Soul Number guide explains how 11, 22, and 33 may be kept in a birth-date reading.

Why is my birth year not required?

A Personal Year uses your birth month, birth day, and target year. A Life Path number is a separate calculation that uses the full birth date.
